This Sunday, my son will receive his God and Me award at our Lutheran church. I’m very proud of his work, which we had to do over several months, so I wanted it to be a special moment for him. I took to searching online and found that the P.R.A.Y. site provides a presentation script. After reading, I didn’t feel it really conveyed all I wanted the congregation to know, particularly about the Scouting component, the primary reason for doing this program. So I created a modified version that includes readings by a fellow Scouter (designed to be by one who has already earned the God and Me) and additional scripture passages. It also allows for presentation of the mentor pin and to recognize the counselor since a Scout does not do this program all on his own.
